![]() If you aren’t 100% satisfied with the color you can move those little things around to change it to your liking! For example, if the color is too vibrant, click the boldest dot in the center part and move it towards the white. Now you have a palette of the color you picked! Put the code of the color you have in that spot. Now go to this website and down in the corner you will see a little spot where you can put a hex code. Decide which color you think fits the gem best and remember the hex code. Even if you want to move on to the next step, you can keep the color palette that was just generated for reference.Ĥ. ![]() If you want more complimenting colors, continue on to the next step. If you’re fine with how that palette looks, great! Keep that and use it for reference. It will give you a dull and vibrant color scheme to choose from. Find a good image you feel represents the colors of the gem well and right click it, then click “Copy image location” NOT link location.ģ. I need to make a palette for my gemsona, Rhodochrosite, so that will be used as example for this tutorial.Ģ. Start by looking up pictures of any gem you want on google images. I figured i’d make a tutorial to show people some cool resources and just in case they want a better way of getting accurate colors for a gemsona. Hey if you love gemsonas and you love color palettes well you’re gonna LOVE THIS. I really hope this helps! it’s the same process for any color. How to make a color palette for your gemsona (and as you can see, i only ended up needing two selective color layers for the second one! easy peasy!) the biggest thing is to work with them side-by-side, so you can see how they look next to each other! Now getting the second gif to match it pretty easy, since i do the same process for all of them. I added another gradient fill and made it come from the left side and used a layer mask to color over everything but the left side of the background It’s still not perfect, so i added a gradient fill w the hex color we want, so the gradient is coming from the topĪnd used the layer mask to color over victor ![]() This technically works, but i’m not a fan of how it looks, so i changed the layer setting to soft light (and turned off the layer w the dot) Now i’m pretty satisfied with this, but the left side and the upper righthand corner isn’t the right color, so i added a layer and colored around victor w the hex color we’re trying to get I added another selective color layer (again, making sure the layer with the color dot is above it, otherwise we’ll be adjusting that color, which isn’t what we want!) and changed the neutrals and reds again using neutrals messed w victor’s skin tone, so in the same selective color layer we just used, i’ll adjust the reds: The colored dot is blending into the background which is good! that means we’re really close to the right color. ![]() We’ll add another selective color layer and drag the layer w the dot on it (for me that’s layer 2) above that one This way we can see what color we want while manipulating the background. ![]() before that, i like to add a layer (above the selective color layer we’ll be using) and take the hex color from the color palette (in this case it’s #A5AAD9) and color overtop the gif Since cyan is so easily turned to purple with a selective color layer, we’ll use that to change the background color. Start with your very basic coloring, however you do it. The one with victor was the hardest to get how i wanted, so i’ll be explaining that one in more depth. The best thing, when looking for scenes to screencap for your gifs, is to find ones with a background either A) close to the color you need or B) a color that you can easily manipulate without effecting the subject of the gif (so anything but red/yellow if there’s a human in the gif, like my victor one, to avoid screwing up skintones).įor both of these, i have blue/cyan backgrounds, which can easily be changed to purple! The first thing to do would be to find a color palette you want to use. I’ll be using these two as an example ( from this gifset)Īlso, maybe donate to my ko-fi? i’m currently in need of a new laptop (again) ugh. I’ll go over how i get the correct color & get two gifs to match. Hello hello! i have a tutorial like this already, but it’s more of a gradient of one color of your choosing than picking a color palette and trying to get those specific colors for your gifset (which is what this’ll be!) ![]()
